Dragon Equipment
Country United Kingdom
Product Dragon Equipment dust suppression unit

INNOVATION PLANT Dragon

The DS110 is described as a compact, yet powerful dust suppression system which can spray 29 l/min up to 23 m (75 ft).

The unit can be 100% remote controlled, from tracking into position right through to starting and stopping the water supply.

Its nozzle can rotate 110° left to right, and 45° up and down and the built-in “teach” function means the machine can target the specific demolition area with a concentrated and continuous water supply allowing the operator to concentrate on the actual demolition job.

The machine includes all-terrain tracks and can tow a water bowser containing up to 3,000 litres. It also has power options which include diesel, petrol and hybrid.

Kocurek Excavators
Country United Kingdom
Product Kocurek Colussus Demolition

Kocurek was approached by a French demolition contractor with the brief of manufacturing a demolition tool carrier that could achieve more than 75 m (246 ft) maximum vertical pin height with a 2,000 kg (4,409 lb) demolition attachment.

INNOVATION PLANT Kocurek

While the original request was challenging enough, additional demolition fronts were requested.

A second rig operating 25,000 kg (55,115 lb) at 23 m (75 ft) and a third operating 15,000 kg (33,069 lb) to 30 m (98 ft) were included.

A total of 12,500 work hours later, Kocurek manufactured the Colossus.

It is a 300 t demolition carrier operating 2,000 kg at headline 76 m (249 ft) and a 25,000 kg attachment at 23.5 m (77 ft).

The company said that producing a 300 t demolition machine comes with its own operational challenges rivalled only by the limitations associated with assembly and disassembly on site and transport.

This is Kocurek’s largest demolition machine produced to date and the company believes it is the most versatile operational 300 t demolition attachment carrier in the world.

Volvo Construction Equipment
Country USA
Product EC300E and EC380E straight boom

INNOVATION PLANT Volvo CE

The Volvo Straight Boom excavator is purpose-built to meet the requirements of the demolition industry, with the company claiming it offers a significant height and reach advantage over standard bent boom excavators.

The Straight Boom is described as providing outstanding stability and reach with pins as high as 12.1 m (39 ft 10 in) for tough demolition applications. When compared to the Volvo EC480EL — one class size bigger — the EC380E Straight Boom design offers a higher reach while remaining in the more economical 38 t class size.

As with our other purpose-built demolition line-up, these new models are said to offer all the guarding, hydraulics and improved dust suppression required for any job site. In addition, the EC380E Straight Boom is specifically designed to mobilise to new job sites quickly and easily with a hydraulically removable counterweight.

The straight boom design meets the demands of niche applications where added reach is necessary to tear down structures, and its versatility makes it a perfect fit for anything from precise dismantling to clean-up, material handling and processing.
