Terex Recycling Systems (TRS) is set to install a new waste processing facility for Newtown Waste Solutions in Glasgow, Scotland, next summer.

The facility is designed to process a variety of waste streams, including commercial and industrial, construction and demolition and household waste.

It will integrate modern screening, separation and automated sorting technologies, enabling the waste management company to extract valuable recyclables more effectively from mixed waste streams, says Terex.

The investment forms part of a wider expansion programme for Newtown, which has recently secured several waste management contracts across the Glasgow region.

The plant will provide the additional processing capability required to support these contracts.

Founded in 2006, Newtown Waste Solutions is based in Motherwell and covers the wider Central Belt area of Scotland. The project is expected to be commissioned summer 2027.
