Uprated performance - the new Komatsu PC210LC-10

03 September 2012

Komatsu has introduced an all new version of its mid-20 tonne range machine, the PC210LC-10, that it claims offers greater lifting power, lower fuel consumption and an improved operator environment. In addition, improved serviceability and efficiency combine to maximise productivity and reduce operating costs.

Available in weights up to 23.5 tonnes, depending on specification, the machine is powered by a Komatsu SAA6D107E-2 diesel delivering 123 kW (165 hp) that is Stage IIIB/Tier 4 Interim certified. An advanced electronic control system manages fuel flow rates, fuel injection and combustion parameters, and after treatment function to optimise performance, reduce emissions and provide an advanced diagnostic function. By using its hydraulically actuated Komatsu Variable Geometery Turbocharger (KVGT) and exhaust gas recirculation, a fuel saving of 10% is claimed for the new engine.

By adding 500 kg (1,100 lb), lifting performance has been increased by 10%, claims Komatsu, and also provides greater stability than that available on the equivalent Dash 8 generation machine. An operator selectable Lift Mode is available that raises the hydraulic pressure for maximum lifting force and fine, steady machine control.
