Publication to provide practical guidance on dust generation, monitoring and control throughout demolition projects

The European Demolition Association (EDA) has launched a new guide about dust in demolition to help professionals better understand and manage one of the most common challenges on demolition sites.

The latest in its series of technical publications, the guide explains the main sources of dust and the factors that influence its generation, said the EDA.

Designed to be used alongside applicable legislation, project-specific risk assessments and other relevant technical requirements, the guide examines approaches to assessment and monitoring, as well as offering practical measures that can be used to reduce emissions and exposure.

The association said that the publication is intended for a wide range of professionals involved in demolition projects.

This includes contractors and project managers, site supervisors, health and safety professionals, clients and asset owners, consultants, regulatory authorities and training organisations.

The ‘Guide to Dust in Demolition’ is available through the EDA, which said this practical reference is not only designed for professionals working within demolition but also other stakeholders looking to improve their understanding of dust generation, control and monitoring.
