Entitled Beyond the Belt, the show goes behind the product to the people, problems and practical fixes that keep quarries, mines, recycling and waste plants, and construction projects moving, the company said.

Smiley Monroe’s podcast team

Headquartered in Northern Ireland, Smiley Monroe supplies customised conveyor belts, conveyor components, and cut rubber and plastic parts for materials handling across mobile equipment, mining, quarrying, recycling and waste management.

Beyond the Belt will share valuable, reliable insights into the industry, some legendary stories and Smiley Monroe’s take on wider business topics shaping how we work including AI, culture and values.

Each episode is designed to be a relaxed, practical conversation with the people behind the business, from experts who solve customers’ problems every day to the teams who shape company culture and operations.

“Our customers deal with our people every day, but they don’t often get to know them on a deeper level. Beyond the Belt is a chilled conversation about belts and life at Smiley Monroe, as well as an opportunity for our customers to send us their questions or pick up some hints and tips,” said Lucas Perales, digital marketing executive and executive producer.

“Having spent almost ten years with Smiley Monroe, I’ve realised the knowledge and stories which exist within our people is extraordinary. We’re looking forward to teasing some of that out over the next few months in a chilled, long format conversation,” added head of marketing Aimee McCracken, who will be hosting the show.

Alongside industry topics, the show will explore wider business themes such as AI in the workplace, sustainability strategies and career stories.

The first episode, available now on Spotify, Apple Podcasts and YouTube, focuses on Smiley Monroe’s Hi5 Values, how it nurtures a strong culture and the impact this has on colleagues and customers’ experience.

Upcoming episodes will debate the real costs of downtime and offer tips on choosing the right conveyor belt before failure happens.

The company encourages listeners to send questions and topic ideas for future episodes.
