In a move that it says reflects the growth in importance of the Asia-Pacific region in the sales of construction equipment, Sandvik is to relocate an important part of its Construction Equipment division’s headquarters to Singapore.

According to president Lars Josefsson: “The Asian market is big and getting bigger. By relocating to Singapore, we are demonstrating our recognition of the importance of this market. We also feel that local presence is essential in the business culture in that part of the world.” He went on to say that: “Asia represents the biggest potential for continued growth. This makes it a natural development to strengthen our position in the region.”
