First NDA Certified Demolition Technicians revealed

CDT is a certification that validates the essential knowledge, experience, and technical capabilities of demolition workers and equipment operators.

It is designed to recognize  individuals who have demonstrated fundamental competence across all critical aspects of demolition, including safety, environmental best practices, operations and people management.

According to the NDA, those who receive the Certification benefit from professional recognition, career advancement, worksite credibility and industry alignment. 

The NDA said the inaugural group completed the rigorous certification process, “demonstrating their expert knowledge and skills essential for safe and efficient demolition operations.”

Following a beta test of the CDT exam, which saw 23 people take part, the following obtained the certification.

“We are proud to recognize these individuals for their commitment to professional development,” said Ben Hayden, the 2025 NDA president.

“To better serve our diverse workforce, our next testing window will now be available in Spanish, in addition to English. Offering a Spanish version allows all our demolition professionals — both men and women — to demonstrate the essential knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in today’s demanding workplace.”

Tim Homrich, chair of the NDA Certification Board, added: “The CDT is an excellent way to recognize your team, boost their confidence, provide them a career path and ensure your team members receive the recognition they deserve for their hard work.”

The next testing and application window is now open through March 31, 2026.
