Finlay’s new heavy duty tracked screen

Terex Finlay has introduced a new heavy duty tracked screen with the launch of its 893 model that can process up to 800 tonne per hour and be fed by either a mobile crusher or by an excavator. The company says that it is built for working in a range of applications, including quarrying, mining, construction and demolition applications.

Power comes from either a Tier 3/Stage IIIA Caterpillar C6.6 engine developing 151 kW (202 hp) or a Tier 4 Interim/Stage 3B Caterpillar C4.4 developing 129 kW (173 hp) and it is fitted with three hydraulically folding discharge conveyors to provide maximum stockpiling capacity and rapid set up/tear down times (30 minutes or less).

The forward facing screenbox has a 6.1 x 1.8 m (20 x 6 ft) top deck and a 5.5 x 1.8 m (18 x 6 ft) bottom deck. Hydraulic adjustment is available to vary the working range angle of the screen between 14 and 18°, depending on the application. The top deck can be fitted with a variety of screening media including mesh, punch bofor bars and tines. The bottom deck can be fitted with mesh, punch plate and cascade fingers.

According to Finlay, a key element of the design is the ability to hydraulically raise the screenbox 0.6 (2 ft) at the discharge end to procide additional clearance for ease of media change as well as routine maintenance of the screenbox and fines transfer.
