Contractors named for US$10 bn framework

Procure Partnerships Framework (PPF) in the United Kingdom has appointed 12 demolition and site preparation specialists to the second iteration of the country’s £8 billion (US$10 billion) National Framework,
AR Demolition, Cawarden, DSM Demolition and Rhodar Industrial Services were among those selected under the Demolition and Site Preparation for the framework, alongside A Buckler (Haulage), Cheetham Hill Construction, City Demolition Contractors and J Freeley Ltd.
PPF also selected O’Connell Contracting, PP O’Connor Group, Tom Prichard Contracting and VHE Construction for the framework, which will run from 1 November this year until 2027 and is “set to be the biggest framework ever awarded across the UK”.
The National Framework is structured across nine sub-regional lots, with value bands starting at £50,000 (US$63,000) and going up to £50 million plus, (US$63 million).
A total of 87 contractors (full list below) won places on the framework’s four disciplines - Construction, Decarbonisation and Retrofit, Demolition and Site Preparation, and Infrastructure - with 35 of them securing reappointments.
While construction industry giants such as BAM Construction, Bowmer + Kirkland, Kier Construction, VINCI Construction UK, Galliford Try Construction, Winvic, John Sisk & Son and VolkerFitzpatrick all made the framework, “65% of contractors within the lots up to £15m [US$18.8 million] are small to medium enterprises,” said PFF.
Robbie Blackhurst, Framework Director at PPF, said: “The next iteration of the framework will see an added 3 disciplines; Decarbonisation and Retrofit, Demolition and Site Preparation, and Infrastructure with specialist contractors assigned to each.
“We have expanded our portfolio to cater to the growing needs of the industry whilst ensuring clients have access to the right contractors for their projects, whether that be regional small to medium-sized enterprises, or larger national delivery contractors.
“The new iteration of the framework is set to transform public procurement and we look forward to seeing what our contractor partners achieve over the next four years.”
