Collard Group acquires 40-acre recycling facility in Hampshire, UK

UK-based demolition, waste management and recycling specialist Collard Group has acquired a 40-acre recycling facility near Fareham, Hampshire, which the company says significantly extends its recycling and aggregates network, as it seeks to create a new operational base in the south of England.

The Rookery Recycling Facility previously operated from 2003 until 2020. Collard Group plans to reopen it for construction and demolition waste and soil recycling. Preparations are currently underway to reconnect utilities and install a new weighbridge.

Once reopened, the facility will initially accept hardcore and soils for recycling, along with the sale of a range of recycled and primary aggregates, said the company.

Founder and CEO Robert Collard said, “The acquisition of Rookery Recycling Facility is an important step in the continued geographic expansion of Collard Group.

“Alongside our existing operation at Nursling, Rookery will allow us to extend the reach of our aggregate and recycling services, improve efficiency and offer an even more competitive service to customers across the region.”

The move follows Collard Group’s expansion at Eversley earlier this year, where it acquired a ready-mix concrete and aggregate wash plant and took over the operation of a 40-acre quarry.
