Collard Group moves into quarrying with acquisition

UK demolition and waste specialist Collard Group has expanded into the quarrying sector with the acquisition of a 40-acre site in Eversley.

The purchase, located close to its existing urban quarry, increases Collard’s total footprint in the area to more than 70 acres and enables the business to quarry its own primary aggregates for the first time.

Collard said the deal strengthens its position in the aggregates and ready-mix concrete markets, with primary aggregates set to be supplied to construction industry customers as well as directly to its own ready-mix plants.

Robert Collard, Founder and CEO of Collard Group, described the move as a “game-changing milestone” for the company and its expansion of ready-mix concrete and aggregates products.

He said: ”Being able to quarry our own primary aggregates allows us to supply both of our concrete plants more efficiently and reinforces our commitment to self-delivering all of our services.”

By combining primary aggregates from the new site with its existing recycled materials, Collard added that the company will be able to further enhance its sustainability credentials.
