Powerscreen celebrates six decades of progress

Powerscreen has added to its 60th anniversary celebrations with a special event held at the company’s manufacturing centre of excellence in Dungannon, N Ireland.

The event, known as PowerFest, brought together employees, retirees, distributors, suppliers, customers and members of the local community for a programme of factory tours, school visits, live music, family activities and charitable fundraising initiatives.

The celebrations recognised the people and communities whose contributions have helped shape both the business and the wider crushing and screening industry over the past six decades, said Powerscreen.

Continuing the celebrations which first began at ConExpo in March and then at Hillhead in June, PowerFest turned the spotlight on the people who have helped build the company since its founding as Ulster Plant Ltd in County Tyrone in 1966.

Sean Loughran, business line director, said, “Throughout this anniversary year, we have been reflecting on different aspects of the Powerscreen story.

“At ConExpo, we focused on innovation and the future. At Hillhead, we celebrated our heritage and some of the key figures who helped shape the brand.

“PowerFest was about recognising the people, families and communities whose contribution is woven throughout our 60-year history.”

He added that while Powerscreen is known globally for pioneering mobile screening, he believed its greatest contribution may well be the people who developed their skills at the company and went on to influence the wider industry.

“Many former employees have established dealerships, engineering businesses and successful manufacturing companies around the world. Others have spent their entire careers with Powerscreen, helping build the foundations of the business we know today.”

In addition, the company has plans to bring together its global distribution network in early 2027 to recognise the relationships and shared successes that have helped carry the brand from its origins in Northern Ireland to customers around the world.
