In what it describes as “an important milestone”, the Open-S Alliance has welcomed KH-Maskin as its latest member.

The Sweden-based company is owned by Finnish firm KH-Koneet and supplies Kobelco, Wacker-Neuson and Kramer machines.

It is the first machine dealer to join the alliance, with CEO Martin Lindén saying: “We want to contribute to the development of an open standard for fully automatic quick couplers.”

Launched in 2020 as an open standard for fully automatic quick couplers on excavators, Open-S Alliance has already attracted companies such as Volvo Construction Equipment and Rotar as members.

“Open-S makes it possible to offer our customers the most user-friendly and efficient solution, so that we can focus on machine solutions and not be limited by compatibility between different suppliers of equipment and work tools,” said Martin Lindén.

“This creates opportunities for us to deliver more machines and give added value for our new and existing customers.”

Stefan Stockhaus, chairman of the alliance and CEO of Swedish attachments business Steelwrist, added: “The Open-S standard has been developed with the dealers and machine owners in mind.”
