South Korean manufacturer TiltPro Corp has become an Associate Member of the Open-S Alliance.

TiltPro, founded in 2021, produces rotating couplers, tilt couplers, and tiltrotators for excavators. The company said its membership in the alliance is intended to support customers by increasing compatibility across products.

“Joining Open-S is in line with our policy of putting customer value first,” said Mr Byong-Kyu Min, CEO of TiltPro.

“For the benefit of our customers, we will commit to a unified open interface from Open-S and provide customers with standardized and highly functional quick couplers to enable the use of different attachments.”

Anders Jonsson, Chairman of the Open-S Alliance, said: “We welcome TiltPro as a member and look forward to working together to promote an open standard within our industry.”

The Open-S Alliance is an independent organisation that promotes an open industry standard for fully automatic quick couplers for excavators.

The standard is designed to ensure compatibility between machine couplers, tiltrotators, and work tools from different manufacturers.

TiltPro is the latest in a long line of companies to join the alliance, and its CEO, Byong-Kyu Min, joined other member company leaders at Bauma Munich for the official launch of the Open-S V14 electrical connector, which is designed to support the MiC 4.0 uniform digital language protocol.

The standardised connector is intended for use between automatic couplers and work tools, including tiltrotators with electrical connections.

According to the alliance, the development allows machine couplers, tiltrotators, and work tools from any Open-S member to be used interchangeably without requiring brand-specific connectors.

The Open-S V14 connector has 14 spring-loaded contact pins and integrates with the MiC 4.0-prepared connection point on machine arms.

The alliance states that the connector has a self-cleaning mechanism and is designed to provide reliable electrical transmission in construction environments.
