Hilti’s fifth generation TE 70-AVR that replaces the TE 76 is a 7 kg (15.4 lb) combihammer is designed for hammer drilling in concrete, masonry and natural stone from 18-150 mm (0.7-6 inch) diameters, drilling mid-to-heavy duty anchor holes from 18-40 mm (0.7-1.6 inch) diameters, breaching and demolition with pointed and flat chisels and pipe penetration through holes up to 150 mm diameter

It has a vibration level of only 10m/s² allowing an operative to drill more than 400 holes per day based on a 25 mm diameter to 100 mm depth, before reaching ELV (exposure limit value). This performance is created through a single impact energy of 11.5 Joules, a hammering speed of 2,760 blows per minute and an unmatched drilling speed of 360 rpm that far exceeds the 250-280rpm industry standard.

Tom Clegg, Northern Europe product manager (heavy duty tools) at Hilti, said: “The 7 kg combihammer class is the workhorse of literally every construction jobsite, hence one of the most competitive for manufacturers.”

“The three major requirements for every site manager and operative are productivity, health and safety and durability, and with the achieved performance, two fully decoupled grease chambers and a glass-fibre reinforced casing for long lasting tool life, we have a product which is second-to-none.”

Hilti’s new TE 70 combihammer family of tools received the highest product design award in the Red Dot’s “Industry” category, taking home the “Red Dot Award: best of the best”, at the Awards ceremony in Essen, Germany
