John Deere adds compact excavator to lineup

According to the company, it delivers “the power, hydraulic performance and attachment flexibility customers need in a machine that is compact enough to transport with ease” without needing a commercial driver’s licence (CDL).

Product marketing manager Emily Pagura said, “With exceptional hydraulic performance, expansive attachment options and an intuitive John Deere technology experience, the 40 P-Tier gives operators the control, versatility and efficiency they need to get more done throughout the day.”

The 40 P-Tier can be configured with a variety of optional features including a hydraulic pin-grabber coupler, add-on rear view camera, factory-installed thumb, angle blade and auxiliary hydraulic packages.

In addition, John Deere will introduce a new compatible attachment for the excavator. The ME28 Mulching Head is a land clearing solution for maintaining rights-of-way, clearing fence lines and working in tight spaces. It features a variable-speed motor, durable rotor design and reversible Cubit knife-style teeth.

The new excavator comes with Attachment Manager technology as standard which allows operators to recall preset hydraulic settings for compatible attachments. John Deere said the system helps reduce setup time and simplify attachment changes so operators can achieve optimal attachment performance consistently.

Inside the cab, operators benefit from features carried over from larger models including the John Deere CommandARM, an 8-inch touchscreen display, optional premium Bluetooth radio, integrated electronic pattern changer and available rearview camera.

It also comes with standard JDLink connectivity for delivering machine location and health information data through the John Deere Operations Center.
