Liebherr is to showcase its generation 8 R 930, R 934 and two R 398 crawlers at NDA San Antonio, which will run from 6 to 9 March in Texas.

Construction machine operators attending NDA San Antonio, which this year celebrates the association’s 50th anniversary, will be able to drive the excavators at the convention’s Live DEMOlition event, as well as during the Operators Challenge, of which Liebherr is the sponsor.

With operating weights ranging between 30 and 38 tonnes (66,000 and 90,000 lbs), all three of the upgraded models are now equipped with the latest engine and powertrain technologies for greater fuel efficiency than their predecessor models.

Liebherr, which will be at event booth #401, said: “Each of these crawler excavators has been completely revamped as new Generation 8 machines. The Generation 8 update includes higher engine power, heavier counterweights for higher bucket capacities, and minimized fuel consumption.

“Other innovations include the boom concept with a modified head, for better boom forces and an optimized load curve, which leads to fuel savings.”

A team of Liebherr experts will be on hand to assist attendees that want to put the excavators through the paces with a few “real-world” tasks, as well as those taking part in the Operator Challenge, which will test drivers’ skills and knowledge.
