VIDEO: Brown and Mason blasts structure at UK industrial site

Brown & Mason has carried out the explosive demolition of the former boiler house at Sembcorp’s decommissioned coal-fired power station in North Yorkshire, United Kingdom.

The structure, located at the Wilton International industrial site, was brought down at 3pm on Friday 9 May using controlled charges. The initiation was carried out by Hayley Little, Process Safety Engineer at Sembcorp.

“The boiler house was successfully brought down in a controlled collapse,” Brown & Mason confirmed. “The adjacent coal bunkers and turbine hall remained standing independently.”

The project was delivered in coordination with engineering consultancy RVA Group and site owner Sembcorp.
