Tools & Attachments: the OEM innovation shortlist
25 August 2026
Following the announcement of the full 2026 World Demolition Awards shortlist, attention now turns to the finalists for the Manufacturers’ Innovation – Tools and Attachments Award.
Recognising innovation at the business end of demolition machinery, the category highlights tools and attachments designed to improve performance, productivity, safety and efficiency on demolition sites.
Congratulations to the manufacturers shortlisted for the award. They are (in alphabetical order):
ALLU FINLAND
PRODUCT: ALLU Concrete Bucket
The ALLU Concrete Bucket is a new excavator-mounted screening and crushing attachment for demolition and recycling.
Designed for 25-45 tonne excavators it crushes and screens pulverised demolition rubble such as concrete, brick and large asphalt fragments.
ALLU Concrete Bucket
By processing material on site, the bucket helps contractors reduce double handling, limit material transport and simplify operations as a practical alternative to mobile crushers.
The bucket accepts feed material up to 300 mm and can reach capacities of up to 100 t/hr. Output size is controlled through a changeable counter blade system, allowing operators to target either 0–50 mm or 0–100 mm material.
Engineered for demanding applications, it has a heavy-duty frame, 40 mm cutting edge, 30 mm side cutters and replaceable conical carbide picks. The drum and counter blade design supports continuous crushing, fast fines screening and practical field maintenance.
CEJN Group
PRODUCT: BLX Hydraulic Quick Coupling
The CEJN BLX hydraulic coupling is designed for demolition, recycling and other heavy-duty applications, combining high surge-flow capacity with faster connection and disconnection of hydraulic tools.
Its bayonet locking mechanism incorporates a foldable lever that enables one-handed operation, including when residual pressure is present in the hydraulic system.
The design provides an alternative to conventional threaded couplings, reducing the time required for attachment changes.
The BLX has undergone more than one million pressure cycles, together with testing under severe side-load conditions. Its high surge-flow capacity can also allow smaller coupling sizes to be used in some applications, reducing hydraulic system complexity.
Fully protected seals prevent exposure to high-velocity hydraulic fluid and reduce the risk of damage during operation.
By limiting pressure drop within the hydraulic system, the coupling is also designed to improve energy efficiency and contribute to reduced fuel consumption over its operating life.
PLATTNER
PRODUCT: DSW 5030-CA Diamond Wire Saw
The DSW 5030-CA electropneumatic diamond wire saw was developed for large-scale demolition and civil engineering applications, including subsea cutting, hydroelectric dam dismantling and structural decommissioning.
Plattner DSW 5030-CA Diamond Wire Saw
The machine provides 50 kW of cutting power and 30 m of onboard wire storage, combined with a three-motor drive and pneumatic wire storage system designed to improve cutting performance and wire life.
Its CutAssist control algorithm automatically adjusts drive parameters during operation, reducing the level of operator input required to maintain cutting performance.
A purpose-built GUI on the wireless remote control allows the saw to be operated from a distance, while an integrated cooling system maintains performance in high ambient temperatures.
Despite its cutting capacity, the machine has also been designed for mobility and rapid deployment between applications and sites.
SHEARCORE
PRODUCT: Fortress FC75 Demolition Tool
The Fortress FC75 is a concrete demolition processor designed for both primary demolition and secondary processing of reinforced concrete. Its modular tooth system allows different functions to be carried out using a single fixed-jaw attachment, providing an alternative to separate tools or interchangeable multi-jaw systems.
Fortress FC75 Demolition Tool
Operators can change tooth configurations to switch between structural demolition and secondary pulverisation, reducing the need for attachment changes.
The design incorporates tip-based rebar cutting at both the teeth and blades, alongside revised jaw geometry intended to improve material control.
An active lubrication system is used to reduce pivot wear, while improved service access is designed to simplify maintenance and rebuilding. The attachment also uses a weld-minimised structure, including a continuous plate extending from the cylinder pin through the pivot to the lower jaw. The same modular tooth concept is available on the larger FC95 model.
The winner will be announced at the World Demolition Summit in Madrid, Spain.
BOOK now to attend the event which takes place 3–5 November.
