The 2011 World Demolition Summit website is now live, allowing entry forms for the 2011 World Demolition Awards to be downloaded (www.demolitionsummit.com).

This year's Demolition Summit will be organised jointly by D&Ri and the European Demolition Association, with the aim of providing a top-quality networking event for the demolition industry around the world.

As with previous events, the World Demolition Summit will consist of the World Demolition Conference and the annual World Demolition Awards, and will be held on November 4 at the Okura Hotel, Amsterdam.

The conference will consist of a high-level technical programme highlighting major areas of concern for the industry into the future, as well as illustrating best practice by way of reports on some of the past year's most challenging demolition projects.

The annual World Demolition Awards are intended to recognise best practice and expertise as illustrated by specific projects, as well as best management practice in areas such as recycling, safety and training.

The redesigned site includes full details of the World Demolition Awards categories that are open to projects carried out from June 2010 to May 2011.

In addition, the information that is required for each category to allow the judges to carry out a balanced evaluation of all the entries that are received is detailed.

The closing date for entries is Friday July 29, 2011.

D&Ri is delighted to announce that the judging panel remains the same as for 2010, and I would like to thank all the judges for once again being prepared to take on this onerous task.

The conference programme will be put in place over the next few months and the website will be continually updated as individual speakers confirm their attendance.

Check the site regularly to track the development of what will be one of the year's premiere events for the global demolition industry.
