Dan Costello is the president of USA-based company Costello Dismantling, which he founded in 1985.

He is a past board member and committee chairman of both the National Demolition Association and the Construction and Demolition Recycling Association, as well as serving several other environmental and recycling organisations.

At last year’s World Demolition Awards he was a judge in the Explosive, Industrial and Recycling/Environmental categories, as well as the Innovation (Tools and Attachments) award for manufacturers.

Speaking about the industry and the World Demolition Awards, Dan told the WDS newsletter: “The biggest challenge I see facing demolition contractors is to execute our work with minimal noise, dust and vibration.

“The most compelling projects that I judge tell a great story.

“I look to see how the challenge of a demolition project is envisioned by a company.

“Then I see how they address the multiple levels of challenges that the project poses in their presentation.”

This year’s World Demolition Awards take place in London, United Kingdom, on November 2. They are part of the World Demolition Summit which also includes a one-day technical conference.

The event is organised in co-operation with the European Demolition Association and the headline sponsor is Volvo Construction Equipment.
