Visitors back at Hillhead after four-year wait
28 June 2022
Close to 20,000 unique visitors turned out for Hillhead as the United Kingdom-based construction, recycling and quarrying trade show returned as an in-person event for the first time in four years.
After two postponements due to Covid-19, a healthy turnout was always likely at the Harpur Hill quarry in the north of England and – with most of the event taking place in a heatwave – the organisers called it “one of the busiest and best attended shows in the event’s 40-year history”.
There were also more than 600 exhibitors present, with new products from companies including Bobcat, Doosan and Liebherr, as well as several wet processing or crushing and screening specialists including CDE – which was celebrating its 30th anniversary – McLanahan and McCloskey International.
It also marked the first appearance at a trade show of the rebranded Finlay operation.
The provisional dates for the next event in 2024 have been announced. They are from 25 to 27 June.
The organisers said: “Hillhead 2022 proved to be one of the busiest and best attended shows in the event’s 40-year history.
“After a four-year gap, it was great to see the industry come together again, face to face, and we are now looking forward to welcoming everyone back in 2024.”
