Developed in partnership with advanced control systems specialist SVAB, the new system is designed to improve operator experience, simplify installation, and maximize excavator efficiency.

Since launching its first control system in 2008, Steelwrist has installed tens of thousands of systems worldwide.

The company said QuantumConnect builds on this experience with a modular design, state-of-the-art components, and embedded connectivity that make it easier to operate, install, and maintain tiltrotators across any excavator model.

The platform includes the new A9 joysticks, offering improved ergonomics and functionality with options for two or three rollers, a 5-way mini joystick switch, and heated handles.

Haptic feedback provides tactile alerts that enhance both safety and productivity.

Purpose-built modules such as QIO modules, Tiltrotator control modules, and AUX modules ensure seamless integration with machine functions and external systems.

An optional in-cab touch display gives operators a clear overview of system status and notifications.

Connectivity is embedded throughout QuantumConnect. The new Connectivity Gateway module enables wireless communication with sensors, 4G cloud backup, over-the-air software updates, and remote diagnostics.

Meanwhile, the system is designed to be compatible with next-generation tiltrotator hydraulics, MiC 4.0 integration, and leading Machine Control Systems.

Simplified installation

Installation is simplified through the InstallMate app, which guides technicians step by step, provides machine-specific templates, and allows machine settings to be securely saved, cloned, and restored across multiple excavators.

According to Steelwrist, the combination of modular components and app-based guidance makes installation faster, more predictable, and easier to replicate across fleets.

QuantumConnect also comes with proportional control, auto-calibration of hydraulic valves, ToolRec automatic attachment detection, and LockSense sensor-based tool locking for safety.

Optional track and wheel steering allows operators to control the machine without releasing the joysticks. Cloud-based monitoring, over-the-air updates, and integration with Steelwrist’s OptiLube automated lubrication system reduce downtime and simplify maintenance.

“Connectivity is no longer optional – it is essential,” said Steelwrist CEO Stefan Stockhaus. “With QuantumConnect, every operator and every machine is connected, supported and up to date, wherever in the world they are.

“This is more than an upgrade, it is a rethink of how a tiltrotator control system should be designed for today and tomorrow. We wanted to make installation faster, operation more intuitive, and connectivity seamless,”

QuantumConnect will be rolled out globally during 2025, starting with selected Steelwrist tiltrotator models, and will be supported by the QuantumConnect and InstallMate apps on iOS and Android.
