The company has secured both the 2023 Red Dot Award and this year’s iF Design Award for the joysticks, which form part of the Rototilt Control product concept featuring a range of new products and were launched last autumn.

“We are incredibly proud and grateful to have been awarded these distinctions,” said product manager Caroline Jonsson.

“Our primary aim is to be well received by our users, of course, but this is further evidence that we are an innovative company.”

Rototilt said that through field testing carried out with both male and female machine operators, its objective has been to design a handle that offers the very best ergonomics, regardless of the operator’s gender or hand size.

“This has involved a well-thought-out design process, where the aim has been to create a well-functioning product that improves the working environment for the user,” said Caroline.

“Working in collaboration with product designers, we made use of methods such as 3D printing and modelling. Everything from button placement to surface quality and the choice of materials was scrutinised down to the smallest detail.”

The Red Dot Design Award was established in 2005 and is one of the world’s largest awards of its kind. It covers three design categories including products, while the iF Design Award goes back to the 1950s and attracts thousands of entries every year.
