Top speakers announced for Demolition Summit

A series of top names from the international demolition industry have been confirmed as speakers at this year's World Demolition Summit in Amsterdam later this year.

The Summit, which incorporates the second World Demolition Awards gala dinner, takes place at the Hotel Okura on November 5. It is organised by Demolition & Recycling International.

The confirmed speakers include Howard Button, chief executive of the National Federation of Demolition Contractors in the UK; Bill Moore of Brandenburg Industrial Services and Past President of the USA's National Demolition Association; and Walter Werner, President of the German Demolition Association.

Project case studies confirmed include:

- the challenging demolition of the Suedenbahnhoff railway station in Vienna, Austria
- the implosion of the 65,000-seater Texas Stadium, an iconic structure that was home to the famous Dallas Cowboys American football team.

Other sessions planned include:

- Changing legislation
- The latest economic trends
- A high reach demolition project study
- recycling in the USA

Meanwhile the first entries for the World Demolition Awards have already begun arriving in the D&Ri offices, well before the July 30 deadline.
