The deadline for these international awards, which recognise excellence within the demolition, deconstruction, and dismantling industry, is Friday 28 June.

There are nine award categories that contractors can enter:

Contract of the Year under US$1 million
Contract of the Year over US$1 million
Urban Demolition Award
Civils Demolition Award
Safety & Training Award
Recycling & Environmental Award
Explosive Demolition Award
Industrial Demolition Award
Collaboration Award

While each project can only be entered once, into a single category, contractors are free to submit more than one different project to each of the categories.

For construction equipment manufacturers, the World Demolition Awards has two awards; Innovation for Plant and Equipment, and Innovation for Tools and Attachments. The same rules about how many entries can be submitted apply, however, the products themselves must be specifically applicable to carrying out demolition works/projects.

In addition to the 11 main award categories, every year the World Demolition Awards also recognise the most outstanding project with the ‘Best of the Best’ Award.

Given to a single contractor for a single project that exemplifies the highest of safety, environmental and technical standards, it is the most coveted of all the awards.

Previous winners have included Brandenburg, Colemans, Priestly, Erith Contractors, Kiewit Manson, Safedem and Jet Demolition.
