Robotic waste sorting goes global

Following on from the story posted yesterday, ZenRobotics has announced that it is has raised €13 million (US$17 million) from equity investor Invus, in conjunction with Lifeline Ventures, a Finnish technology funder who will hold a minority share, to allow it to take its robotic waste sorting technology to the global market.

According to ZenRobotics CEO Juho Malmberg: "after an intensive research and product development phase, we are now shipping: the world gets ZenRobotic recycler. Our continued partnershipm with Invus opens great possibilities. We can now go global, fast. the robotic revolution in recycling is closer than ever."

ZenRobotics Recycler (ZRR) is a robotic waste sorting system that reclaims valuable raw materials from construction and demolition waste, using industrial robots controlled by artificial intelligence. The system offers significant savings in disposal costs by identifying and picking raw materials that would otherwise be lost. According to ZenRobotics payback times are estimated at less than a year.
