Austrian machine and tool manufacturer Tyrolit has hosted the fourth European Championship for wall sawing, core drilling and hand sawing.

The Tyrolit Cutting Pro Competition took place at the Congress Centre in Innsbruck, with Darius Janulis of Norway claiming the overall title. Austria’s Martin Sponring was second, with Jan Läderach (Switzerland) in third place.

Altogether 26 contestants – who had spent three years qualifying for the competition – took part.

Members of the audience, among them hundreds of enthusiastic travelling supporters from the 14 nations involved, were also able to view a Tyrolit product exhibition.

This included the first showing of the company’s Atex certified wire saw system, which can operate in areas with a high risk of explosion in Zone 1.
