The United Kingdom’s National Federation of Demolition Contractors (NFDC) has reiterated its commitment to professionalism and integrity amongst its members following the recent Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) investigation into bid rigging.

After a lengthy CMA probe, 10 British contractors were fined almost £60 million ($73 million) after the authority found that each of them had been involved in at least one instance of illegal conclusion, affecting a total of 19 UK demolition contracts over a five-year period.

Three directors and former directors from two of the companies involved were also disqualified.

In a statement, the federation said: “The NFDC is aware of a recent announcement from the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) concluding their investigation into price collusion within the demolition industry.

“In accordance with previous statements, the NFDC does not condone any acts of collusion and will continue to focus on maintaining high standards of professionalism and integrity across the industry.”
