NFDC and NDTG hosts demolition careers event
19 September 2025
The National Federation of Demolition Contractors (NFDC) and the National Demolition Training Group (NDTG) jointly supported a careers event at HMP Spring Hill on 8 August as part of the Breaking Down Barriers programme.

The initiative, delivered in partnership with the Ministry of Justice and the Prison Service, aims to highlight demolition as a viable career pathway for individuals preparing for release.
It also aims to promote inclusive recruitment to help address skills shortages in the industry.
The event featured NFDC President Adrian Corrigan, NFDC CFO Lesley Ransome and NDTG Project Lead Brian Carroll, alongside member companies City Demolition Contractors (Birmingham), The Erith Group, J Mould Reading and Tilley & Barrett.
Attendees had the opportunity to engage with demolition employers, explore the skills required within the sector, and take part in practical activities including a demolition simulator.
A Q&A session provided further insight into career routes, industry standards, and the training and certification available through NDTG.
The programme is designed to demonstrate how industry training and accreditation can support individuals in building sustainable careers, while also strengthening the demolition workforce.
