The National Demolition Association (NDA) has announced the launch of a new in-person course titled Demolition Methods, Planning, and Design.

The one-day training will take place on 5 June 2025 in Washington, DC, and is aimed at professionals across the demolition sector.

According to the NDA, the course is designed for a wide range of industry roles including owners, engineers, inspectors, estimators, superintendents, foremen, and labourers.

The NDA stated: “This course teaches you about the engineering concepts behind the demolition means and methods… by using digital and physical models and field examples.”

The course will also include insights into structural design and risks. Topics will include pre-stressed structures, cantilevered and hung structures, the principles of steel and concrete members, and potential failure mechanisms.

Attendees will also be given guidance on how to identify and mitigate risks and ensure safe and controlled demolition operations.
