The acquisition is aimed at expanding Metso’s product range in both the organic recycling and North American mobile crushing and screening markets.

Diamond Z is a manufacturer of high-speed grinders used in applications such as land clearing, construction and demolition, composting, and tyre disposal, and Screen Machine Industries is known for its crushing and screening equipment for the aggregates industry.

Together, the two companies employ around 190 people, and have facilities in Caldwell, Idaho, and Etna, Ohio.

According to Metso, they will continue to operate independently under Metso’s Materials Processing Products business line.

While the financial details of the transaction have not been disclosed, and it is not expected to have a significant impact on Metso’s finances, the acquisition is expected to enhance Metso’s presence in the North American market and support its growth in the infrastructure recycling sector.

“We are very happy to welcome Diamond Z and Screen Machine Industries to the Metso group of companies,” said Markku Simula, President of Metso’s Aggregates business area.

“Diamond Z allows us to extend our offering in the growing infrastructure recycling equipment market, and their mobile grinders provide a great addition to our Materials Processing Products portfolio.

“Screen Machine Industries enhances our mobile crushing and screening offering and further strengthens our position as one of the leading providers in the field.”
