Under the agreement, Korund will distribute Metso’s crushing and screening equipment, wear parts, screening media, and related services for the aggregates segment.

However, the OEM stated that it would continue to manage sales and services for its minerals segment customers for the countries, through its existing direct network.

Korund, which has been active in Kazakhstan and Central Asia for 30 years, is a recognised supplier of specialised heavy equipment and services across several industries, including construction, mining, infrastructure, and energy. As part of the agreement, Korund will also provide warranty support for Metso’s products.

The partnership is expected to benefit from Korund’s local expertise and established presence in the region. Korund’s commitment to maintaining a stock of equipment and spare parts is anticipated to improve service delivery for Metso’s customers.

Representatives from both companies expressed satisfaction with the agreement.

Carlos Padim, Vice President of Distribution Management EMEA at Metso, said: “We are very happy to welcome Korund to Metso’s network of distributors.

“They come with a strong team of professionals in the construction equipment industry in Central Asia, good knowledge of crushing and screening equipment, and a good reputation among all key customers in the region.”

Dr. Valentin Bereza, founder of Korund Group, said: “For Korund, the agreement provides a great opportunity to offer customers reliable and unique Metso solutions and equipment. We are very happy to represent Metso in the Central Asia region.”
