Kinshofer joins Open-S Alliance

09 March 2023

The Open-S Alliance – the joint initiative to create an open standard for fully automatic quick couplers for excavators – has announced Germany-based attachments manufacturer Kinshofer as its latest member.

Kinshofer joins as an associate member of the alliance, which aims to give machine operators and contractors the opportunity to combine machine couplers, tiltrotators and tools from compliant manufacturers.

“Kinshofer is pleased to join this alliance,” said group CEO Thomas Friedrich.

“Opening up our product offering to the Open-S standard will be welcomed by our customers as it removes boundaries and limitations of using a wide variety of tools from various manufacturers on one and the same carrier.

“We will play an active role to support Open-S Alliance efforts to expand the range of hydraulic couplers globally.”

Open-S Alliance chair Anders Jonsson added: “All members of Open-S share a belief that machine owners and contractors should have the freedom to choose what solution to buy.”

The Open-S Alliance was founded in 2020 by Swedish manufacturers Steelwrist and Rototilt, and has since signed up members including Volvo Construction Equipment and Rotar International.
