IDE expands globally with international chapter

Covering Australia, New Zealand and the Far East, the new chapter “marks a truly significant milestone in the IDE’s 50th year,” according to president Adrian McLean.

He added, “This marks a major step forward for the Institute and reflects the growing international reach of demolition engineering, as well as the strength of the global demolition community.”

The Asia-Pacific chapter of the IDE will be led by chair Scott Chalmers (Demex, Australia) and vice chair Philip Whitting (RVA Group, Australia) with Oli White (also Demex) appointed as secretary.

On behalf of the institute, Mclean extended a special thank you to IDE’s international chair Stephen McCann and international vice chair Yazan Osaily (both Perses Group) for their help and support in the development of the initiative.

For those interested in becoming involved in the Asia-Pacific chapter and working towards IMIDE status, the demolition diploma is a key prerequisite within the Institute’s international membership pathway.
