The independent panel, which will consist of five judges, has been formed to bring deeper technical insight to the assessment of entries from original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).
Each judge brings years of experience in demolition machinery, attachments, and engineering solutions, and the panel will focus solely on the two innovation award categories introduced in recent years to recognise the role of OEMs in supporting industry progress.
Leila Steed, Programme Organiser for the World Demolition Summit (WDS), said: “We are pleased to be introducing a dedicated judging panel for the Manufacturers’ Innovation awards. It’s a change that we have been wanting to make for some time now and I hope that it will encourage more OEMs to enter.
“The new panel is made up of experts with a deep understanding of demolition-specific equipment and its application, and they will help ensure that innovation entries are evaluated with the technical rigour they deserve.”
The contractor award categories – including Civil, Industrial, Urban, Explosive, Environmental & Recycling, and others – will continue to be judged by a separate panel made up of senior demolition professionals from leading demolition firms across the industry.
The 2025 World Demolition Awards ceremony will take place in November during the annual World Demolition Summit, which take place in Nashville, United States.
