Kent, UK, based contractor Goody Demolition has taken delivery of two new Volvo demolition excavators that both meet the latest Stage IV engine emission regulations.

The first machine, a 25 tonne class EC250E, has been specified for secondary demolition applications and has been supplied with the standard backhoe boom configuration, while the larger 30 tonne class EC300E has been modified by Kocurek Excavators to feature a modular boom joint, 22 m (72.2 ft) three piece high reach boom as well as a straight boom. It also now features a titling cab with full FOGS protection and additional ‘cassette’ counterweight to ensure stability when operating at full height with a 2.5 tonne tool.

Both machines have been supplied with twin lock quick hitches, full guarding around the superstructures and additional hydraulic circuits to facilitate grab rotation for the wide range of demolition attachments used by Goody Demolition including shears, grapples and pulverisers. Power comes from a Volvo eight litre diesel that delivers 159 kW (213 hp) on the EC250E and 179 kW (240 hp) on the EC300E.
