Edge waste shredder wins MEWAR award

Recognising best practices in the environmental management sector, the MEWAR Awards event in Palm Jumeirah was attended by waste management and recycling companies from across the Middle East region and Europe. 

Edge Innovate’s electric powered EDGE Slayer XL waste shredder was chosen as the winning entry by a panel of sustainability experts, who were said to have been “impressed” by the environmental benefits offered by the model, such as its high level of energy efficiency, as well as its low noise operation.

A twin shaft unit, the EDGE Slayer XL is a low-speed waste shredder that provides 20% more throughput than the company’s smaller Slayer X. It is powered 420 hp Caterpillar engine that offers an average fuel consumption of just 25-30ltr/hr (7-8 USG), and “the lowest running and maintenance shredder on the market”. 

Key features include tramp metal cycles and intelligent load sensing, which enables the high torque model to handle “difficult to shred” materials.
