The PG75 tyre for recycling applications was originally phased out in 2000, but Dunlop has now brought back a new version

Dunlop has relaunched its PG75 tyre for recycling applications, after an eight-year absence. The new PG75 RCL has been specifically designed for the requirements of wheel loaders used in the recycling industry. It features a wide, deep, non-directional tread that Dunlop says results in a long service life, as well as extra protection against chunking, penetration and cuts from sharp objects. The pattern has a solid centre section with shoulder notches to provide traction, and sits on an industrial tyre carcass and belt construction. The upper sidewall features a scuff-rib to reduce sidewall damage.

The new tyre is available in 405/70R20 EM dimensions, which Dunlop considers to be the key size on most compact wheeled loaders to be found in recycling applications. This offers the advantage that it fits a standard 13x20 rim - using the new tyre means that no modifications to the machine or drivetrain.

Dunlop OTR manager Phil Stanton said of the new tyre: "The recycling market is booming and the last few years have seen tremendous growth in municipal recycling centres separating re-usable materials from regular household refuse. Our customers operating in this application have been telling us they need a strong, durable tyre that will help to reduce their costly downtime due to punctures on their machines - our field tests have shown that the new Dunlop PG75 RCL meets that need."
