The equipment manufacturer won the ‘Coup de Coeur’ - Jury’s favourite - Award at this year’s Grands Prix Matériels ceremony, which took place last month in Nantes, France.

Organised and hosted by the DLR - an organisation that brings together equipment distribution, rental and maintenance companies - and publisher Chantiers de France, the Grands Prix Matériels Awards recognise “remarkable innovations in the field of construction equipment”.

Doosan’s Transparent Bucket, which also won two awards at the international Matexpo Exhibition in September of last year, uses cameras mounted on the front of the machine to display a real-time image on the monitor inside the cab.

This allows the wheel loader operator to see the objects in the ‘blind spots’ caused by the bucket.

It is also said to improve work efficiency by providing a forward-view perspective for the driver during loading/unloading or when carrying materials such as aggregates, sand and soil.

Gilles Bendaoud, vice president of sales and marketing at Doosan Infracore Europe, said: “As safety standards for machines and job sites continue to tighten around the world, sophisticated safety systems have become a key factor in the selection of a machine.

“We plan to continue to develop safety systems that protect both operators and personnel working around the machines.

Gilles added: “We look forward to being at the forefront of promoting safer and accident-free work sites.”
