Italian contractor Seli Manutenzioni Generali has used its new Doosan high reach excavator to carry out demolition works at a historic university in Italy.

The company used the DX235DM demolition excavator to tear down several storeys of a building at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan, as part of a redevelopment project for new teaching rooms.

The DX235DM, which has a maximum pin height of 18 m (59 ft), includes an adjustable undercarriage that can expand the width of the machine for better stability in demolition operations. The feature also reduces the width of the machine to 2.54 m (8 ft 4 in) to make it easier to transport.

Seli recently bought the high reach excavator from Doosan and Bobcat’s authorised dealer DMO.

Riccardo Cucini, technical director and production manager at Seli, said: “The machine stands out for its great flexibility in terms of application and speed.

“We chose the Doosan DX235DM because it is the only demolition machine that can be transported on the road without the need for exceptional transport and related special permits.”

Seli also bought the Doosan DX530DM demolition excavator and two conventional Doosan DX235LCR-5 and DX340LC-5 excavators as part of the deal.
