Containerdienst Adler tackles Eisenberg heating plant demolition

Demolition of the site, which will become the a new service centre for the plant owner’s district office, involves dismantling the former heating plant, including a flat building section and the towering chimney.

Concrete rubble from the initial deconstruction is being repurposed to create a fall bed for the chimney, which will be brought down through a combination of crane dismantling and controlled blasting.

The contractor has deployed its new Epiroc’s HB 2000 hydraulic breaker, CC 3100 CombiCutter, BP 3050 R bulk pulverizer, and MG 1800 R multi-grapple for the project.

Managing Director Thomas Adler explained that the selection of these attachments followed a consultation with Epiroc’s Area Sales Manager, Ralf Schumann, and Nagel Baumaschinen’s Sales Manager, Robin Hallbauer.

Epiroc’s on-site support during the handover ensured the equipment was optimally adjusted for the job, with operators trained in safe handling and maintenance. Adler emphasised the importance of this technical support in maintaining efficiency and reliability during the challenging project.

The chimney demolition will mark a significant step in the site’s redevelopment, showcasing the contractor’s capability in managing complex and high-profile demolition tasks.
