Case made use of the Bauma trade fair to present a prototype high reach based on a CX330 crawler excavator. Designated the CX330HRD, the machine is the first high reach it has entirely designed and built in–house (the company's previous high reach models carried Kocurek–made booms).

The three section boom and dipper arm provide a working height of 20.5 m and a maximum forward reach of 11.15 m. In its demolition configuration, the prototype comes in at a weight of just over 43 tonnes.

An optional digging boom and dipper arm can also be used with the first boom section for use while working on lower building floors. All hydraulic pipes and hoses on the boom have quick release couplings for rapid boom changeovers.

The prototype is shortly to enter a full test programme and D&Ri understands that series production is expected to begin during 2008, assuming the programme is completed successfully.
