Swedish remote controlled demolition robot specialist Brokk has unveiled its fourth new model in the past 12 months and the most powerful in its range so far.

The Brokk 500 – which has 40% more power than its predecessor – features the Brokk Smartpower electrical system designed for extremely tough operating environments

It also has a more powerful breaker and extended reach.

However, at 5,200 kg (11,684 lb) it is only marginally heavier than the earlier Brokk 400 and is the same width, as well as being backwards compatible with components from the 400.

“The 500 is a remarkable demonstration of how far we have come in getting the most demolition power possible out of a Brokk machine without adding to its size, largely thanks to our new Smartpower system,” said Martin Krupicka, CEO of the Brokk Group.

“It is also more proof of the resources we invest in product development, being the fourth new machine we have released in just over a year.”

The Brokk 500, which was premiered at Conexpo in Las Vegas from March 7 to 11, will be available in May. Other recent launches include the Brokk 120 DII diesel driven machine, the 280 and 110.
