Brian has more than 25 years’ hands on experience in the demolition industry, having joined the Priestly team in 1997.

Starting as a demolition labourer, he worked his way up the ranks to vice president of operations, overseeing all Priestly’s on-site activity, engineering, logistics, and safety, while managing projects upward of C$120 million (US$88 million) annually.

Brian is an active member of the National Demolition Association, serving on various committees, , as well as holding the position of vice president of the board of directors with the Ontario Association of Demolition Contractors.

In Toronto he will present on the rapid demolition of the Gardiner Expressway eastbound ramp, which took place in the city itself.

The company said: “This was a hugely challenging project for the Priestly team, with only five weekends to complete the work and Monday morning reopening of a major commuter highway in downtown Toronto.

“With over 9,000 hours logged in just five weekends, this project proved to be an example of what can be achieved with strong leadership, excellent planning, the right technology, and a highly trained and dedicated crew.”

The WDS is organised by Demolition & Recycling International in co-operation with the US National Demolition Association and the European Demolition Association. The headline sponsor is Volvo Construction Equipment.

Comprising a conference, awards dinner and numerous networking opportunities, it is now in its 15th year.
