Bobcat is targeting the demolition sector with its tracked loaders mounted on hard-wearing steel tracks. Pictured ixs th T250 model it launched at the February 2009 World of Concrete exhibiton.

Bobcat has introduced the option of steel tracks on its three largest compact loaders, the T250, T300 and T320. The machines are targeted towards abrasive working conditions such as those found on demolition sites.

A statement from the company said, "The steel track undercarriage is best suited to contractors working in conditions where rubber or rubber-reinforced steel tracks could become damaged. For instance, the jagged edges of concrete and rebar that demolition contractors encounter can quickly wear down or damage rubber tracks. With steel tracks, these customers reduce potential downtime."

Bobcat product specialist Mike Fitzgerald said that the steel tracks are not interchangeable with traditional rubber tracks.
