Anaconda has broken its design mould for designing machines that fit into 12 m (40 ft) containers with little or no breakdown with the introduction at Hillhead of the DF512 tracked scalper. This new machine is the fourth screen from the company in the last two years, is the largest produced so far and is the result of demand from the company's dealers for a larger product. According to Con Gallagher of Anaconda, the DF512 has the largest hopper in its class with up to 25% more hopper capacity than competing machines.

According to Anaconda, the new 27 tonne screen can provide a throughput of up to 350 tonnes/hour and has a double screen deck with dimensions of 3.6 x 1.5 m (12 x 5 ft). Power comes from a Cat 4.4 litre water-cooled unit with a rated power of 75 kW (100 hp), and it is available in belt or apron feeder options and comes with three integrated conveyors. The DF512 has hydraulically folding feeder sides as standard, hydraulic screen angle adjustment from 15 to 19°, hydraulic screenbox raise/lower to allow easier mesh changes and has wired remote control as standard, with radio remote available as an option.

The company says that it is ideal for use in scalping or screening quarry product, mining minerals, recycling construction and demolition waste, soil and compost.
