Keltbray signs up to net zero carbon ‘by 2040’

British demolition contractor Keltbray has signed the Climate Pledge, a commitment co-founded by Amazon and Global Optimism to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2040 at the latest.

Signatories to the pledge agree to measure and report greenhouse gas emissions on a regular basis; implement decarbonization strategies in line with the Paris Agreement; and neutralise any remaining emissions a decade ahead of the Paris Agreement’s goal of 2050.

Keltbray said it has “committed to working towards net zero carbon emissions across its operations”, having unveiled a new core purpose to “redefine the way sustainable development is delivered” earlier this year.

“We strive to make a positive contribution to the world we live and work in and we are delighted to become a signatory to the Climate Pledge,” said head of environmental sustainability Kiro Tamer.

“We have set ourselves the objective of achieving net-zero by 2040 for our scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions and will use a Science Based Target to monitor our progress. We will reduce our emissions by decarbonising our on-site plant and fleet and by collaborating with design engineers and our clients to also decarbonise our supply chain related emissions.”
