Supplied by Develon dealer Syms Techniek, the 23 tonne model is the smallest in the manufacturer’s four‑model range of dedicated demolition machines, offering a maximum pin height of 16m.

It will be used primarily for the demolition of smaller buildings in confined spaces, such as its debut project in Turnhout, where De Schepper Kris is dismantling several multi-storey structures to make way for the new ‘De Globetrotter’ community centre.

The DX140RDM‑7 was transported to the site on a flatbed truck, with a separate 15 tonne zero tail swing excavator clearing access and assisting with sorting and loading demolished materials.

The model features a hydraulically expandable undercarriage, which extends from a transport width of 2,540mm to a working width of 3,740mm for improved stability.

De Schepper Kris opted for the fixed demolition boom configuration, with a reach of 16m and a maximum outreach of 10.7m.

It also comes with an overload protection system with four angle sensors and a pressure sensor, alerting the operator and stopping the machine when limits are reached.

Syms Techniek customised the unit with a Eurosteel CW40 quick coupler, a Zijtveld sorting grab, a Trevibenne concrete shear, an automatic lubrication system, an additional dipper‑stick camera, and 600mm steel tracks fitted with rubber pads for use on asphalt and paving.
