An Allu Screener Crusher is reducing US contractor Zen Excavation’s costs by up to 30%

Aspen, Colorado, based contractor Zen Excavation is turning its hands to small scale demolition and recycling using an Allu screener crusher. With soaring housing costs in Pitkin County, residents are increasingly tearing down existing properties to make way for larger and better homes. However, the county has an aggressive environmental building code that requires that as much demolition debris be recycled as possible. Based on the size of the new build, builders and owners are required to earn a certain number of points for demolition debris recycling.

Zen is reaping the benefits offered by using the Allu sccreen mounted on a wheeled loader that previously saw only sporadic use. According to owner Justin Helmer: "We saw a market in using our existing equipment for demolition and recycling. It's a way to offer even more to our customers and gets us on the site before excavation begins. We crush, reduce and recycle wood, glass, cinderblock and porcelain debris using the Allu attachment. We price our services competitively, yet our C&D recycling methods versus traditional demolition are allowing us to cut our costs by up to 30%."
